"One of my favourite Newcastle Pubs, the Seven Seas in Carrington. I hope it is of interest. Incidentally the big white letters on one side of the Hotel spelling out 'Seven Seas' were also positioned on the other side but were damaged beyond repair during the 1989 earthquake.

Made of copper and about two feet high they were sold for scrap metal at that time. Fortunately one lot were saved.

This hotel still shows many of the features of the 1938 Art Deco rebuild undertaken by Tooth and Co."
