Established 1857 and has since been refurbished.

"The historic Corio Hotel was named after the paddle-steamer Corio, which sank on the Murray River in 1857, the same year as the hotel was built.

The first licence was granted to William Ray on 31 March 1858. Since then the hotel has continued to operate under many licensees.

SHR 13856 – confirmed as a State Heritage Place 29 June 1989"
