The Condingup Tavern Experience

13 July 2010

G'day mate!

My Australian friend greets me with these words, so I've tempted to use the phrase, too.

My husband and I had a 10-day trip in West Australia last November and ended up staying in Esperance longer than our original plan as the beaches of the region was so much to see and explore.

We are living northern part of Japan which boasts its undeveloped natures, but we had never seen such beautiful seascapes we saw in Esperance and further west!

We are planning to go back there this November, and would like to stay for a couple of nights in Condingup Tavern.

Last time we dropped in there just for a tea break, but we could have a good conversation with the owner family. There existed a genuine hospitality which can be rarely found anywhere ( in my country, too)!

Touring around in Australia and New Zealand, I realized the place called Tavern is more closely connected to people's daily life than Japanese counterpart called izakaya. Tavern feels safer and somewhat healthier. Maybe this is because of the multi purposed function of Tavern especially in country sides. .....

I appreciate that your website tells me that we could have a room in Condingup Tavern so that we'll be able to take time to explore the spectacular coastal line more next time.

Cheers,
