Patrons would refer to the Pub as
"Joes Waterhole" in conversation
so in 1987 that became the new
name and his son Ray was the publican until recently when the hotel went under the hammer, closing the book on 43 years of Whiting family history. The new owner, Brett Lewis, along with the friendly staff who stayed on, is keen to maintain the friendly atmosphere that Joe's has become famous for. Joe put a sign at the entrance to Eumundi saying "Free Beer Tomorrow" He came up with this idea which you have probably seen used by Pubs all over the country. Joe was the Publican between 1962 and 1983.

Merv has to get a mention. He has his own Bar Corner complete with Merv's Music Trivia Board. See if you can
answer a question when you drop by. Merv, being a polite bloke, does not want to turn his back to the Bar so he installed a rear vision mirror to keep an eye on the Telly. Good thinking Merv.
