Kinglake Motorcycle Touring Pub Trail

Pub Trails:

Touring the area from Warrandyte via Panton Hill, St Andrews through Kinglake and across to Flowerdale is one of those very special runs enjoyed motorcyclists, classic car enthusiasts or in fact anybody who enjoys the great hospitality provided by some really top country pubs. And guess what? The trip is less than an hour's distance from Melbourne.

The winding roads that lead up from the Yarra River to the summit at Kinglake, take you through some beautiful touring regions of the Kinglake National Park area.

Almost in defiance of the tragic events of Black Saturday, (7th Feb 2009) the close knit community of Kinglake have emerged to open their businesses and hospitality to travellers in the area.

The run North to the town presents you with distant views to the Dandenong Ranges to the South-East, and tremendous views back to Melbourne in the West.

From Kinglake, take a round trip up to Flowerdale and on to Yea, where you can pick up the Mt Slide Pubtrail for coming back to Melbourne or carrying on North.

A couple of other great alternative routes can be taken from Kinglake out East to Toolangi, where, again, you can pickup the Mt Slide Pubtrail for going back to Yarra Glen and Lilydale. Or, at Toolangi cut across to Healesville where you can join the Black Spur Pubtrail that takes you up to Narbethong, to Marysville/Buxton and ultimately to Alexandra. Or slip easily back to Lilydale.

And for those coming in from the west side of Melbourne, this region is conveniently reached via Whittlesea.

As you see, Kinglake is the pivot point perched high on the Kinglake National Park, giving you access to many great aras of this region to explore and enjoy. So pop through the area and give some support o these great towns of Victoria.

Happy Pub trailing!
