Iron Knob is a historic mining town situated at the foot of an iron ore mine on the northeast Eyre Peninsula, renowned as the birthplace of Australia's steel industry. Located immediately south of the Eyre Highway with a population of around 199, this small community offers excellent recreational amenities including a nine-hole golf course, lawn bowls, attractive shady parks, and public murals, making it a friendly stopover for travelers.
