Ranges Hotel (The) in Gembrook
Ranges Hotel (The)
The Ranges Hotel
About an hour south east of Melbourne lies a quiet, small country town
called Gembrook. The Ranges Hotel is one of Gembrook's prized possessions standing at the last stop of the world renowned Puffing Billy steam engine railwayline. The hotel had been closed from about 2011-2017 when it was reopened after a huge renovation.
The Ranges now operates as a family friendly Bistro and Bar with hints of original details dating back to the turn of the century.
Built in 1896, it has an unusual timbered and ornate glassed atmosphere, due to its building materials being once part of a church. The original publican designed and built the Pub, and brought with him, all the salvaged building materials from an old Church building from his home town to do it.
So stroll the town, enjoy the attractions and pop back for a meal or an ale with the locals, at The Ranges.
