"THE historic Country Club Hotel in Yea was gutted by fire early this morning.
The Country Fire Authority was called to the 150-year-old building on High St shortly after 3.30am, and found the top floor engulfed by flames.
District 12 operations officer Justin Dally said it took firefighters around two hours to bring the fire under control.
"Around 50 firefighters worked to attack the flames on the upper floor externally," Mr Dally said."

Originally called the Commercial Hotel, built in 1856 (est), but billboarded as established in 1858.
Catering specially for the traveler, the hotel features accommodation, a vine covered beer garden, bistro, and fine range of boutique beers in the bar."
