Located in the valley of the Tambo River where the mountains meet the plains.
The gateway to the snowfields and the Snowy mountains to the north.

This area is an often used bypass from Bairnsdale to Nowa Nowa, to avoid the busy Lakes Entrance traffic along the Princes Highway.

A feature of the area, is the Rail Trail walking/riding track that takes in some great historical views of railway trestle bridges.
