Mornington lies ideally situated now, only 55 minutes from Melbourne via the new East Link freeway and either Monah or Eastern Freeway entrances, and only 30 minutes from the general eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The main street is an excellent walkway with the main traffic directed around adjacent street, making it a great shopping and eatery experience, decorated by seaside styled adornments and pillars. At the foot of the town are the main historical buildings and a great park that overlooks Schnapper Point and the pier below.

Home to the Mornington Yacht Club, the town is also the home for the Scandia, the builders of the infamous "Wild Thing" yacht winner of the 2004 Sydney Hobart race. The pier, eatery and walks at Schnapper Point are a great way to get the day started in the area, followed by a drive around the many nearby wineries that make up the Mornington Peninsula region.
